1995 Hyundai Elantra
Awaiting a major revision in 1996, the 1995 Elantra offers no significant change
from the past models. It is now, however, equipped with all the innovations made
from its introduction up to this year. Compared to the 1992 model, the 1995 Elantra
is now more equipped and a bit more powerful.

This year's Elantra comes in three trim models: the base model, the GLS, and
the new SE model which looks sportier than the previous two models. The 1.6 liter
I4 engine is used for the base and the SE model while the GLS model is equipped
with the 1.8 liter I4 engine that produces 124 hp of power and 116 ft-lb of torque.
The transmission type for all three models remains to be the 5-speed manual transmission
with overdrive with the 4-speed automatic transmission available as an option.
There was not much change made with Elantra's interior either. It is still roomy
for a subcompact with the minimal standard features available only for the GLS
trim. Power windows, power door locks, and a cassette player are still the standard
features for the GLS and remains to be optional for the other trims, while the
sunroof and air conditioning system are optional amenities for all models.
Safety features are still minimal, although all trims now come with standard
driver side airbags and the GLS comes with an optional ABS brakes. Because of
the driver side air bags, it got a better NHTSA crash test rating for the driver
side but still has a low rating for the front passenger side.
